So again, there’s no video for this week and that’s because when I moved I misplaced the microphone I use to record with. I also apologize for no update last week but honestly not much happened so you weren’t missing anything.
Now, this past week I haven’t done much writing. In fact, these past couple of weeks I haven’t done much writing and that’s because with how stressful everything has been, I haven’t been in a creative enough of a mood to really buckle down and just do it. Every time I try, I just immediately hit a rut. I’m lucky to get 100 words down.
Also, in this down time, I’ve come to a decision that I’m not the happiest about, but something I have to do none the less. Since it’s been harder for me to write, I’ve instead been doing a bit of reading over my own work and I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m gonna put New Game+ on an indefinite hiatus. It’s not because I don’t like the story idea or something similar; it’s just because I don’t think my skill level as a writer is good enough to write it.
Let me explain: Right now, I want to write books for kids between the ages of 10 and 14. Why? Because that to me is the age range I feel that kids really get into reading and I want to help spark that. But New Game+ is a book for those around the ages of 20 and up who grew up with video games, and I’m afraid that at this point, I just don’t have the talent to write it.
I’m not giving up, though. I’ll come back to this book once I feel I’m ready. And I’ll still dabble every now and again, but I can’t have it be my main focus like I originally planned for this year. So instead, I’ve decided to make the next Queen of Spades book my main focus! It’ll be released a bit later in 2017 rather than earlier like Spring-Heeled Jack was, but that’ll work well for me in the long run.
Anyways protagonists, thank you very much for tuning in this week. It looks like things will finally start calming down for me and now I feel like I’ll finally be able to do the work I wanted to do since the start of the year. I hope you all have a very wonderful day!
