Arachnophobia and Other Such Non-Related Things!

Hello everybody! I hope you are all having a very wonderful day so far because I definitely am. Why am I in such a good mood you ask? It’s simple: Just because. I think it’s important that we treat everyday as a happy one. I guess that’s not completely true. In reality, I’m extremely happy because these past few days have just been perfect.

Quick side note: Why is this post titled “Arachnaphobia” of all things? Well, as a quick bit of trivia, I’m not afraid of spiders. I swear I’m the only person I know who would much rather release a spider into the outdoors rather than squish it. Anyways, this afternoon after lunch, I was getting ready to do all my business stuff and I saw a spider just chillin’ on my wall. I’m not gonna lie, he did startle me. But the thing was adorable! She had these beady green eyes and it was super cute. I’m pretty sure she was just a wolf spider so I wasn’t too afraid. I just picked her up and took her outside. End of story.

To start, I’ve been reading a lot more. Usually, I would read before I went to bed. Typically I would read a chapter or two and then conk out for the night, but these fast pew days I’ve been reading over the course of the day and it’s been truly wonderful. For all of you curious, I’ve been reading Rick Riordan’s The Throne of Fire in preparation for his up and coming Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series. Let it be known that Rick Riordan is my favorite author and is the one writer who I can say inspired me more than any other. In fact, I can say with one hundred percent certainty that the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is what single-handedly got me into serious writing.

Apart from that, the past few days have been wonderful in terms of my own writing. I’ll admit it right now; I’m an extremely slow writer. I’m lucky to get 1,000 words down in a day. However, just yesterday I was able to punch in 2,500! Now that may not seem like a lot, but for me that’s pretty damn awesome. It’s very rare that I’m able to get into a groove like that and jot down that many words. For reference, the current word/page/chapter count is: 14,350 words, 74 pages, and 9 chapters.

And on top of that, my kickstarter has a backer! It may only be one for now, but one is better than none. I’ve been doing my best to try and spread the word to as many other authors, bloggers, facebook pages, and twitters as possible to try and get the word out and it looked like it might have finally worked! I still have a month to go, so I’m not too terribly nervous.

For all of you out there who are hesitant to donate for one reason or another, I understand completely. No one wants to just throw their money away to something that might not even turn out to be very good. I understand if some of you are low on money and don’t want to spend it on this. But, even if you don’t have the ability, I ask of you to help spread the word. Also, if you are thinking about donating but don’t trust my abilities based on what I have up here on the site, I’m in need of beta-readers for the first several chapters. If you are at all interested, don’t fear to ask. I’ll send a .PDF file your way in no time.

Lastly, I’ve been doing a lot of work on the next Louder Than Words as well as the next A(NQ)RR. I’m not exactly sure when they’ll be released, but I am working on them whenever I get the time and happen to think about them.

Anyways protagonists, thank you all very much for tuning in today. I hope you all tune in for next time and may you all have a very wonderful day!
